Congratulations, Glenn Herrington, on 10 years with Marcair!

Glenn has been around aviation since he can remember. He took his first ride with his father when he was 5 years old and was hooked. Aviation and flying became his passion. Life made him wait though 35 years before he obtained his Private Pilot License at Northwest Regional Airport with a private instructor. In between, Glenn spent 25 years with the FAA Flight Service as an Air Traffic Controller, Pilot Weather Briefer, Area Supervisor, and Educational Specialist. He is also a Certified National Weather Service Forecaster and Weather Observer.

Glenn is into classic and antique airplanes and calls the 1935 de Havilland Tiger Moth the favorite airplane he has flown. Among his many unforgettable aviation experiences, “Ferrying an Interstate Cadet from California
to Oklahoma” ranks the highest.

We first got to know Glenn as a customer and student, when he obtained his Instrument rating and Commercial Pilot’s license at Marcair. He was so impressed with the way Marc Barth did business and the professionalism of the employees that he stayed, first as Dispatcher and now as Director of Operations.

His goal with Marcair is to make flying an enjoyable, safe, and fun experience

for all and to elevate the school’s reputation to the highest level possible. Glenn readily discloses that his experience at Marcair as a customer and employee has been nothing short of incredible. “I feel at home here as much as I do with my own family”.
